It’s that time of year again – colder nights, shorter days and plenty of leaves on the ground. Especially in some of Reno’s more developed areas with mature trees. Blowing leaves into the street may get them out of your yard, but eventually they end up somewhere. For our City streets, those leaves can clog stormwater drains which could result in flooding.
Instead of blowing or raking your leaves into the street, leaves should be placed in your trash can or bagged in 32-gallon bags and placed at the curb with an “excess waste sticker” for pick up on trash day.
If you did not receive stickers or need to purchase more (stickers are mailed out by Waste Management in January) please contact Waste Management at 775-329-8822.
City of Reno residential Waste Management customers who are current with their bill may additionally dispose of one standard pick-up truck with municipal solid waste four times a year at no associated cost at either the Commercial Row Transfer Station or Stead Transfer Station.
