City of Reno partners with community for Halloween events

The City of Reno is partnering with our community to provide several family-friendly Halloween events!

 

Halloween Hallow on the Riverwalk
When: Saturday, October 29 from 5-7 p.m.

Tricks, Treats & Treasures Designed to Scare up Fun in Downtown Reno’s Riverwalk District October 29, 2016 Halloween fun is kicked up a notch with free family entertainment and free trick-or-treating for children during the Halloween Weekend.

Guys, ghouls and ghosts will scare up some wicked fun in downtown Reno’s Riverwalk District on Sat., Oct 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. during the 8th annual Riverwalk Merchants Halloween Hollow event.

Not only will costumed, candy-seeking youngsters get a “treasure map” where they’ll find sweet treats at participating Riverwalk District merchant shops on Sat. Oct. 29th, but they’ll probably run into guys and ghouls in spooky costumes along the way. Live music and entertainment located in the City Plaza offered in partnership with The City of Reno, as well as a special Virginia Street Bridge Pumpkin Carving Contest, Reno’s Most Artistic Pumpkin Patch.

Merchant Candy Stations and additional information can be found online at renoriver.org. To participate in the pumpkin contest simply purchase your designated Ferrari Farms Pumpkin with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Sierra Arts Foundation’s Arts in Education Programs in Washoe County School District. Get Creative! Design your pumpkin to enter the kids, Scariest, Reno Themed, and Traditional pumpkin carving categories.

Harvest Fest at Idlewild Park
When: Saturday, October 29 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

This free community harvest festival is for kids, preschool through sixth grade. There will be games, prizes, bounce houses and lots of candy. This event is free and open to everyone.

There will also be a non-perishable food drive at the Harvest Festival. Food collected will be distributed by The Bridge Food Pantry, benefiting needy families in our community.

Trunk or Treat at Traner Middle School
When: Monday, October 31 from 5-7 p.m.

A spooktacular event where kids can trick-or-treat in a safe environment and collect candy from car to car! There will be face painting, pumpkin bowling, potato sack races and more!

When: Monday, October 31 from 5-7 p.m.

A spooktacular event where kids can trick-or-treat in a safe environment and collect candy from car to car! There will be a Black Hawk helicopter on display for kids to see!
